The Megyer-hegyi Tengerszem is a special natural attraction near Sárospatak. The Megyer Hill, more than 300 metres above the town, is one of the most secluded natural wonders of our country, the Megyer-hegyi Tengerszem.

This picturesque lake was formed on the site of a former millstone quarry, which over the years has filled with rainwater, creating a unique lake on the top of the mountain.

The name "sea eye" refers to the fact that the lake is situated between the mountains, in the embrace of nature, as the "eye" of the landscape. The rocks and green vegetation around the lake contrast beautifully with the blue-green of the water, providing visitors with a stunning sight. It is a popular tourist destination and a prime example of how man-made forms can live in perfect harmony with ever-changing nature.
