2019 has real potential to be also deemed as an outstanding vintage with wines showing finesse and capability for aging. The growing season was even and free of any disturbance to the ripening process that would have harmed the quality of the grapes. Thus, most of the grapes reached full ripeness before harvest time.
Sweet Szamorodni is the little brother of Tokaji Aszú. It is made from a selection of clusters that only partially contain aszú grains. This wine shows notes of fresh pear, dried apricot and candied orange peel. On the finish, typical drying notes such as mushrooms and dry straw emerge.
This wine is excellent with aged meats and cheeses, but pairs phenomenally with Kiev mutton.
